Yes. The device is designed to help discourage grey squirrels from entering protected garden areas using motion-activated ultrasonic sound and a flashing LED. Results can vary depending on placement, surroundings and animal behaviour.

When the PIR sensor detects movement, the unit activates ultrasonic sound and an LED flash to make the area less inviting. It covers a fan-shaped zone of approximately 110°, with a stated detection range of up to 6–8 metres.

Some activity may reduce within a few days, but we recommend allowing up to 1–2 weeks for animals to change their usual route. For the best results, reposition the unit if activity continues in another part of the garden.

Cats and dogs may also detect or react to the deterrent. Avoid pointing it towards their feeding, sleeping or regular play areas. Position the device only towards the outdoor area you want to protect.

The solar panel recharges the internal battery during daylight, including under normal UK conditions. Place it where it receives as much direct sunlight as possible. Charging and operating time may be reduced during cloudy weather or shorter winter days. The IP44-rated housing resists rain splashes but should not be submerged or exposed to high-pressure water.
